Coffee Breathing exercises are up-regulating with >20 breaths per minute in order to stimulate the "fight or flight" nervous system response -> Ideal first thing in the morning and before exercise or task-related work ☕️
Water Breathing exercises focus on a balanced breathing at the rate of 4-6 breaths per minute in order to have an adaptogenic effect on the nervous system -> like water, it is beneficial to practice any time of the day or night and before high stress situations 💧
Whiskey Breathing exercises are down-regulating with <4 breaths per minute triggering the "rest and digest" response of the nervous system, reducing heart rate and activity in the skeletal muscles and improving digestion -> a great practice before bed 🥃
During this 75 minute workshop students will be led by Certified Breath Coach Megan Tyler and will have the opportunity to experience these three different categories of yoga breathing exercises to better understand which may be beneficial to do more regularly to support your wellbeing 💓
Along with gaining deeper knowledge about how our breath is an amazing tool to regulate your nervous system, we will incorporate yoga postures in a gentle flow to compliment the breathing throughout 👍
